Active Treatment Systems: General Basics and Expectations

Kristine Sommer, CPESC, QISP, QSD and Nathan Hardebeck

Stormwater treatment BMPs are becoming more relevant in Oregon as regulation tightens and stormwater discharge benchmarks become lower. This session will review the existing regulatory framework around stormwater treatment BMPs and how they are perceived in Oregon as affective source control management. This session will also outline what to expect when requesting a stormwater treatment BMP when it comes to: sizing, design, equipment and cost.

  • Learning Objective:
Create an understanding of stormwater treatment BMPs, how they operate and when to utilize them.
